Change in meds, change in behaviour

Feeling anxious and nervous, recently had my clozaril reduced, my sister is thinking that this is what it is due to, but even if they were reduced i would go through the same anxiety and panic attacks feel an uneasiness in the heart and stomach, But i am grateful to have such a caring and attentive sister

Cloz is such an extremely powerful tranquilizer. Any dose reduction is quickly met with anxiety in most pts who have been taking it for a while. If you’re clear-headed enough, you may be able to get some relief from DBT (see http://behavioraltech.org/resources/whatisdbt.cfm) and its terrific “distress tolerance” and “emotion regulation” components.

There are many excellent DBT workbooks available on the cheap from amazon.com. Here are some examples:

One of my brilliant pdocs had the idea to start me invega sustenna injections but before I was on a therapeutic dose she lowered the dose of the pills. I was so anxious I couldn’t even eat.

It’s amazing how meds can change the mood… I wish it wasn’t true… but without meds… I wouldn’t be doing as well.

But one thing that is definite… it’s not JUST the meds… My kid sis has helped me and given me friendship and been by my side through some hard times.

The manufacturers assure us that these meds are not tolerance- and dependency-forming. Uhhhhhhhhh, so why do we get withdrawal symptoms?

That’s a very good question, I would suggest asking your pdoc. I’ve wondered the same thing.
