I was never allowed to use my cell phone or the internet in the hospital. But every now and then you see someone post on here they are in the hospital so some must let you.

They confiscated my cell phone.
No internet access either.

My phone was taken when I was admitted. Must be nice to have one in there. :fish::fish::fish:

I hate that policy. Members in other countries use their phones and have computer time while in the ward. There’s no reason for our clothes and phones to be confiscated. They even tried to take my undergarments when I was in there.

Yeah they took everything from me including my shoes.

That’s really traumatic for a person who is already sick I hate that about hospitals

I was allowed phone from like 10am to 8pm in one hospital in US.

Yeah. I told them no way was I getting naked under my creepy hospital pajamas.

When I was hospitalized in Sweden I was allowed to use my laptop even. Never understood why that would be an issue

That is exactly what I said. It made zero sense to me and I refused, and they let it go. But I made sure to wear shoes with no laces, and they still took them.

That’s good. I’ve only been to three, and it was the only one that wouldn’t let me keep my clothes.

I remember them making notes of everything in my bag, for example 2 t shirts, 3 trousers… Aww I kinda miss that place cos it was the last time before I was medicated so felt like a different person back then in a way

Oddly enough, that ward was the one with the most caring staff. All the other places I felt like they thought I was just some crazy person.

Yea I think that’s one of the things I missed. Caring nurses. They were cool
And people going through similar things to me. Made me feel less alone

The first hospital i stayed at never allowed any cellphones at all.

The second hospital I stayed at allowed them, and also had wifi downstairs.

They allowed me in open wards but not in picu wards…I think it’s good and bad to ban them. Bad cos no communication and news and media etc so boredom occurs, but good to have it banned incase people video others, or like me, upload crazy ■■■■ to instagram :flushed::relieved:. I also had delusions when reading youtube comments.
