I smoked crack for four years in the late eighties. I got clean while staying in as temporary residential treatment home. I had been going to occasional AA and CA meetings before this but I went to meetings and then I still used. But when I was in this home I got serious about sobriety and getting clean; I started going to a meeting held downstairs every Tuesday and eventually my cravings and obsession with drugs stopped. I branched out to other meetings and when I moved into a board & care I walked or took the bus to 5 or 6 meetings a week. Now I have no desire to drink or use and I don’t miss drugs or alcohol at all. AA works!
Hey Mate. Well done to you and it’s something to be celebrated. Keep on keeping on and glad that even when stressed you don’t even think of the drugs…It’s hard to let go of those feelings and I think your life is so much better for your sobriety.
Well done @77nick77 . Amazing achievement.
