I got clean in AA. I used to love my crack and booze but I like my sobriety more.

I have a few years of absolute abstinence from any mood altering chemical. I have wanted to use lately but getting to a meeting is not fun work. I’m “white knuckling” it. I know the program. I know if I spoke in a meeting I’d get slapped with some 12- step wisdom that hurts. If you don’t work a program it will work you. It’s true but it’s dangerous. I give credit to my original friends in na for giving me a firm foundation. The urge to use passes in time. When you use nothing gets better.
