Congratulations. I know it is a horrible drug that ruins lives and is highly addictive. As one of your online buddies, I am thankful you overcame that addiction and am happy to have conversed with you over the past 3 or four years. Pretty much since the first year I was here, and before that when I lurked on the forums for a couple of years, reading about your experience with schizophrenia while maintaining the awesome sense of humor you have, has taught me that schizophrenia is not the end of the road. Far from it. I know that as a person that overcame addiction, you are a shining example that addiction is not the end of the road either. Those two things achievements alone are inspirational for anyone who is newly diagnosed and not only for them, but for anyone who has wondered what life with schizophrenia can be like down the road. Sure my life drastically changed with the diagnosis but because of people like you, now I personally know it is not the end of it. (I was going to throw in a joke about you being an old timer, you know, the β€œover 20 years with schizophrenia but still kicking” type of joke but heck, it’s 2020 and i’m not getting any younger. [And quite honestly, it is not a bad thing to hear that, I want to be kicking after 20 years of schizophrenia too {eventually}])

All that, and I can still have a sense of humor. You reminded me of that too.
