I think it helps. I did it alone, in individual therapy.

Is it form of psycho therapy?

I think so? Honestly the term psychotherapy confuses me. Not sure what the difference is between psychotherapy and regular therapy.

don’t i seem cured? of course it works.

I hear about it but don’t think it would help in my case.

Btw - you were the one with the water drinking issue like me, right?

How are you doing with the self discipline measures? Unfortunately I don’t think there is a pill for this so that is what it takes.

I’ve cut to 3 liters per day and strongly holding on,except that I’m tired all the time. Thanks for asking. My sister is about to go for CBT but she isn’t much talker. She has depression.

Interesting about your sister doing CBT… I guess I should try it before I knock it. But I just have this feeling that it wouldn’t work for me. Like my delusion isn’t acute enough in other words

Edit: Sorry about your sister. It must be hard to both have mental health issues. It’s nice your asking on here for her sake.

Thanks, but I’ve read previous posts and didn’t find an answer for my question. Now I think that CBT is popular, but I would want to know why. What changes it brings?

Forever ago I chatted with a member who called herself PIsces and she said there was a workbook involved. That turned me off of it. My mind feels like it’s constantly working.

It’s expensive here, guess I would wait for my cousin and her explanation of process.Thanks.

I remember it deals with thoughts feelings and actions I think. I think that’s the backbone and is what trips us all up as schizophrenics. Sorry it’s expensive, at least your doing the due diligence surrounding it.

I thought it is individual.Does it requires special engagement in life, changes of habits?

I did a CBT work book on psychosis one on one with a social worker. I didn’t really learn anything new. I did have a little homework so I had to put some thought into it.

I made a list of my triggers and a list of what to do to feel better and he made me copies of all of those to keep.

I don’t really think it helped much but it couldn’t hurt to try. Nothing to lose really.

If I remember correctly there is a CBT for dummies book out there. That could be a good thing for @anon70049667.

I have social worker, but here they are not trained to do therapies.Anyway,I’ll ask my PDoc to give me some insight, but it’s three months away.In department of my previous hospital there are groups for something.I was involved 8 years ago to some psycho social training to improve your cocial skills. It ment something then, but I’ve already forgot about it.I had a joy to be with the people like me.

I personally found CBT to be helpful. It helps by giving you someone to talk to about your issues. Then of course they help you by suggesting different methods to cope with your different issues. I did it for a year and eventually got leveled out enough to stop.
Right now I am big into doing group therapy. I am a member of about 4 different groups.

That’s great. So you let other people read what problems you can’t solve and issues in your life so they suggest another point of view.If it’s true,I definitely need that kind of therapy.
