So it bugs me that I have schizophrenia but don’t know the cause and not in research lab getting my brain studied so I made this topic to conduct own research, what do you think causes schizophrenia? stress, cortisol, dopamine, brain, life events, drugs, what do you think

I think usually genetics but in my case it was stress. There is no one else in my family with a history of mental illness.

A combination of genes and environmental factors, such as stressful events early in life (or even prenatal) and trauma. Some people believe drugs might cause sz, but I’ve never done drugs, except nicotine.

I think it will turn out that schizophrenia has numerous possible causes.
Let me use Cancer as an analogy.
Cancer isn’t caused by one thing. It could be genetic (oncogenes), it can be caused by chemical exposure (cigarette smoke), it can be caused by radiation (The sun). There is more than one way to develop cancer.
Similarly I think schizophrenia can be caused in numerous ways. For some people it may be genetic, for some it may have to do with smoking marijuana, for others it may be a chemical imbalance in the brain, in others something may be wrong with their neurophysiology.
This might explain why medications don’t work on everyone, the reason why they developed schizophrenia may not be solvable by medication, perhaps gene therapy will prove beneficial in the future for treatment resistant schizophrenics.
Again it’s like cancer, different cancers require different treatments. Drugs, chemotherapy, radiation, surgery.
I don’t know why I developed schizophrenia, but here I am so I take my meds, studied CBT and have tried to make the best of it.

I believe its complicated–I think its a generational occurrence --like a frequency–
are there lasers that can cause radiation? to me it felt like hyper-stimulation, and I could hear radio waves. Except that one time I hear radio wave frequencies repeat an entire thought-loop ie memory. That inspired me a bit about consciousness, and I went deeper into the unknown and unobservable. It was strange. Ok you could say it was an automatic hallucination, but I turned on the radio and heard myself instead of the radio so its like my thoughts literally took over the radio waves.
What are radio waves anyways?

Its a scary notion and I dont like it. Altered states can cause all sorts of para-normal experiences. I do not believe it was created by bad people or agencies in order to oppress the fringe or those who stand out–or target and silence them.

I think not taking enough photos could also be a cause. I should do something about that.

I took a photo of something paranormal and went to upload it–dam picture was gone!!! @ozymandias better yet back them up. You need a flash drive with space enough to hold all your files. I have a 2TB USB flash drive with nothing on it. Im about to find out anyways. Curious cat died once but she came back she has 9 lives.

apologies Im not trying to upset/offend/anyone expressing my personal experience. remember mine is not the same as anyone’s and I am not claiming to have the answer to what causes schizophrenia.
I think schizophrenia is a combination of white brain tissue matter loss, a extra sensitive immune system due to being exposed to a virus or cold weather in the womb pre-natal, and possible bad reaction to any psychoactive chemical.

I’ve got implanted tech and implanted metal in several places in my body. I’m not picking up anything for signals and you’d think I would? In terms of broadcasting, I can uniquely claim to be one of the few here who IS broadcasting, but that’s only because I run an online radio station as a hobby. Not a cheap one - licensing went up again.
