Cat or Dog? I can not decide

I am not sure if I should adopt a cat or a dog.
I love cats, and @Azley 's cat is just adorable!

I found some cats on Facebook 6months to 1 year old, but mr buddha thinks I should adopt a dog like a Yorkie or a Shitzu. I love the fluffy teckels but just worried about being able to care for the dog.

Not sure

The cat will also wanna sleep in my bed and stuff and I have to cut the nails.

Dogs require more responsibility and training so it doesn’t try attacking other animals or people.

Cats are laid back chill animals that kinda do their own thing, but some are very affectionate.

I have both. My dog requires lots of daily training to be a good dog.
My cats are awesomely chilled out animals.

I haven’t seen Geno ?

It depends in what you want in an animal. Cat’s tend to be much better pets if you’re looking for something that’s low maintenance and doesn’t require a lot work or attention. Dogs are social animals so require a lot more interaction to be happy. Dogs have to be trained to do most things, including potty trained if kept indoors, while cats know to use a litterbox from watching their mother and through instinct so don’t require training.

So basically, decide based on how much responsibility that you want and how much you plan to interact with the animal. Cat’s are often loners so don’t want petted nearly as much as dogs (in most cases). If you want an animal to interact with constantly and to be dependent on you, a dog is superior imo. If you animal that’s cute and that you just want to play with and pet every now and then, then a cat is superior. Obviously all cats and dogs have unique personalities, so sometimes you’ll find extremely social cats and loner dogs, despite the opposite being the norm.

For most MI people, I’d recommend a cat since they mostly take care of their selves. You simply need to provide food, water, clean litter and vet visit’s every now and then.

looks like a wise/loner cat

Well hes never met a female in his life so that might be why. He’s very social with humans though. VERY social for a cat… He hangs out with my sisters cat sometimes. Hes indoors. He hates the dog though.

Speaking of crazy biting mode, it reminds me of this gif I saw on reddit today! :stuck_out_tongue:

LMAO!!! :scream:

I guess I shouldn’t really get a cat :unamused: =)

Kittens require a lot of play and you shouldn’t leave them for longer periods until they’re older. Work is fine, holidays are not. You should gradually train them when they’re older by leaving the house for longer and longer time periods. Dogs still require a lot more attention and walks, though. You need to have time for at least 2-3 walks a day. Some breeds require a lot of exercise to be happy, so if you want a dog, read up on the breed(s) before you adopt it. You should also read up on how to train your dog before you adopt it.
