Indeed, research confirms people who use cannabis are four times more likely to develop chronic psychosis, or schizophrenia, compared to people who don’t. For people who smoke every day or use higher potency products, the risk is up to six times higher. One study found eliminating marijuana use in adolescents would reduce global rates of schizophrenia by 10%.
Here the government already put a warning on weed products since legalization of cannabis. The warning say cannabis may cause or worsen symptoms of sz and may cause early onset sz.
Specifically the warning says its the THC thats the warning is about and that the higher the THC content the more its likely to worsen or induce early onset sz.
Im not sure if marijuana causes sz but it could cause psychosis in people susceptible to it. That could lead to chronic psychosis which would prob end up as a sz diagnosis.
Puts ■■■■ in perspective when I see other people self medicating with cannabis because I always ride into this guilt trip because it’s not accepted in western culture.
If it doesn’t cost hundreds of dollars and need a doctor to prescribe it it’s ‘forbidden’
