Caplyta Anyone?

My doctor wants me to research the drug caplyta? Do you have any experience with the med? Please share I’m not finding much on the net.

It is pretty new. I see commercials advertising it. :horse::horse::horse:

I’ve seen them too, but it doesn’t say much about side effects or case studies.

Caplyta in trials showed that it generally has fewer side effects than other AP’s. It only comes in one dose strength, 42mg.

I took it. I don’t remember any side effects, but it didn’t help my psychosis symptoms at all, which defeated the point of taking it. That’s just my experience.

It failed phase 3 trials. It was no better than placebo in phase 3 trials but still got approved anyway.

It helps a lot with negative symptoms, but I do need a minimum dose of risperdal with it. Which is no issue at all.

Caplyta user here (for around 10 months-ish). I’ve found it’s kept my psychosis at bay. I haven’t experienced a ton of psychosis in general though, only twice when I was unmedicated. Its effects aren’t as pronounced as Abilify in calming my nerves but I do feel more awake and “with it”. I have also lost weight. Went from 240 to 225 lbs.

Keep in mind it’s a controversial ap and doesn’t work for a good portion of ppl.

Also, it’s hard to find a lot of info on it in general since it’s so new. The main thing that made me wanna give it a go was the fact that it carries less side effects. I have an open-minded psychiatrist, too.

I took it for about a month. It did nothing for me. I do best on heavy-handed dopamine antagonists, of which Caplyta is not.
