Ppl are commenting that I look tired at work.
It’s not a good look.
And most importantly I’m drinking coffee again.
Not good it is too stimulating.
What do you folk do to try and get sleep?

Cut out the coffee and try taking some L-theanine just before you go to bed.
L-theanine has research behind it saying it helps sleep.

Definitely cut out the coffee. Drink a fruit drink that will give you a little boost.
I drink chamomile tea and it knocks me out on this meds.
When I was not able to sleep, I talked with my psych doc.
You could try 300-400mg magnesium and melatonin 1 hour before bed. I only take 0.5mg melatonin, but others need more to feel a benefit.
I take a muscle relaxer for arthritis. Knocks me out in no time.
I’m about to go to sleep after being awake on coffee and tea two days. It sounds irresponsible but for a few months coffee stopped having an effect on me. It may be the brand.
I would use your phone until you get tired, usually what I do

the first thing you have to do is cut coffee as it causes insomnia.almost all atypical antipsychotics have sedation effect. also you can try melatonin plus passionflower combination at night its considerd to be safe. if that didnt work there is other strong hypnotic drugs but you have to discuss this issue with your pdoc first.

Yea no coffee for me tomorrow. Tonight is probably the last time. Its not easy as I work during the night but I will do it.
Since i was a kid, i have made up stories in my head while trying to sleep. Like an alternative life. And i slowly set the scene in my imagination leading toward night. I start to imagine myself going to sleep in my imagination and i fall asleep in real life. The main thing that helps is that i enjoy it. If u feel anxious about not being able to fall asleep, that will keep u awake longer. I don’t worry how long it takes to fall asleep. I just imagine an intricate story and as i get tired i imagine myself in the alternate life getting tired and going to sleep.

I don’t think it would work for me.
Cos I’m not a fan of alternate or imaginary realities.
It sort of triggers psychosis feeling in the sense of emotional memory.
I’ll see how it goes when I take out coffee first.
Have you ever tried zinc supplements. For some reason they have a calming effect, just a small dose
I haven’t actually. I only know zinc is good for the immune system. Never heard about the calming effect.

Yeah, it calms me. I noticed it calmed anxiety too. Now that i use a betablocker i dont use it for anxiety anymore but i do use it for calming when i feel i need to sleep and ive taken the trazodone.
Trazodone is an ad that sometimes gets used for insomnia too btw. But idk if you want natural remedies or open to meds. Worth a thought.

If that’s not good enough i will consider certain herbal teas.
