Can't believe it but I'm a big loser :)

So. It’s been about 6 months or so I’ve been serious about dieting. I really started at the start of the year but it took a while to get going. Anyways. Today for the first time in a long time…we are talking 2 decades here…my BMI in my morning weigh is in the normal range for my height!!!

Started with low fat, no sugar then moved to keto/no sugar and it’s been surprisingly easy. I wouldn’t recommend it to everyone but the keto works and after about 4 months of pretty much staying on the keto I’ve gone from obese with a bmi of 30.5 or so to normal at 24.8.

So 108 plus kgs down to 86 plus so lost 22 kgs ( 48.4 lbs ). Plan is hit the goal weight after losing about 3 or 4 more kgs then stay pretty much low carb but add a few things like rice for variety. I still eat pretty well and it’s amazed me how disciplined I’ve been but it gets easier for sure!

Still exercising heaps and that helps too and keeping busy. I am spending an hour or so working in the yard cleaning up a little at a time so getting heaps done in life. Feeling pretty bloody good about life for sure at the moment.

Congratulations with the weight loss.

Good luck with keeping it off! That’s sometimes the hardest part.

Awesome work @rogueone! Be proud of yourself.

Starting dieting and exercising is hard work. It takes about 3 months until the body adapts to the routine. Those first months can be rough.

Keep at it!

Congrats on the weight loss. I is hard. I suspect particular so on your med. And I’m glad its uplifting your mood, as well.

Well done!

It must be noted that when you giverup keto and go out of ketosis, you gain a couple of kilograms. It is just what happens so don’t be disheartened.

It happened to me. Losing that couple of kilograms with a normal diet has been slow for me.

It is to do with water weight and stuff apparently.

I’ve found it hard to lose weight when I am on psychotropic med’s, but getting off the med’s isn’t an option for me. My weight is stable, though. That is good. I need to lose about fifty lbs. though.

I’m trying to get into low carb as well. Been skipping rice and stuff in preference for salad and meat.

I do low fat meat like chicken breast and pork filet.

You got any more recipe ideas?

I like grilled meat, I buy preseasoned meat, grill them and put salad dressing on salad. There is many meat flavors, chipotle, spicy, souvelaki, portuguese etc I use zesty italian salad dressing. Sometimes I make shrimp and vegetables sauté with oyster and sriracha sauces. Sometimes I have wraps, smoked salmon and low fat cream cheese with lettuce or ham, low fat cheese and lettuce or eggs and ham wraps.

I still eat some carbs but low, I read that your body goes into ketosis whenever you eat less than 50g of carbs a day. When I have wraps I just have one small one I think 14 or 19g of carbs. I get the Keto ones from Costco but they still have 19g of carbs, although they have 13g of fiber. I read that fiber cancel out carbs

Yea I think when there’s a lot of fiber it keeps your insulin from spiking by lowering the g.i.
