No matter how bad the money gets I always break down and buy cigarettes no matter what…? Can anyone tell me a good way to stop? I really want to stop but I am not doing something right…every time it’s the morning to stop I find a way to buy them again…feeling down…
look for quit smoking meditation on youtube and play a lot tonight?
maybe you should save up for hypnosis hunni. put away 2 dollars a week if you can and go for hypnosis. that should stop you i reckon. i know plenty of people that can’t give up. i’m selling all the tobacco i have left and i’m then going to quit. i have one pouch left for me and that’s it. the rest will be gone by thursday. you can do it hunni. it’s all about will power. you do have it, you just have to be disciplined. i gave up for 9 days, had some alcohol and went straight out and bought a pouch like a prat. never mind, i will try again. i am determined that this is my last pouch.
I’ve found that when I want to overeat I can delay the time I dig in. I say to myself - I can wait a while longer. I often end up skipping the snack completely. Maybe you could do something similar with smoking. Say to yourself - Well, I can wait ten minutes for a cigarette. Then you can start putting ten minute intervals together. Maybe this way you can decrease how much you smoke, if not quit completely.
I just don’t have any confidence when it comes to cigarettes…little things happen and annoy me and I have been using cigarettes to calm me down…I have to find something to do. I can play my instruments but that is only a couple of hours a day…maybe extensive house cleaning? grrrr…thanks guys…
I’ve been told it’s not the best time for me to quit by my tdoc. So ended up learning to roll my own. I also add a filter so tastes like a tailor made. It’s the cheapest way of doing it if you’re going to continue to smoke. But wish you all the best on quitting. There is also a book that will help The easy way of quitting smoking by Allen Carr that’s had a lot of successes in helping people quit. If nothing else will help prepare yourself for quitting in the future. I found it was at my local library and picked it up for a few weeks to save money instead of buying it.
thanks dreamscape…I can’t get a card at my library I want the book but I would have to buy it…I lost a book at the library they want me to pay for…so I’m screwed…
You could probably get an e-book of it as he has a few sites around. http://www.allencarr.com/
I’m planning on quitting and my doctor told be to use my electronic hookah. It’s a lot safer than smoking and a lot cheaper. The equivalent of 6 packs of cigarettes was around $6 or $7. I’m planning on using the patch and the 0mg vape juice. The patch comes with a pamphlet on how to quit and a toll free number to call. There’s a lot of free support out there. They also have support groups so you could look into that. You have to replace times you would normally smoke with a substitute behavior. Good luck!
I quit by using the patch. But then, I was really ready to quit too – fed up with trying and failing over and over.
I feel SOOOOO much better now. Good luck.
I switched to nicorette quick mist. It absorbs really fast and it is $50 for two sprayers at Costco. Each one lasts me two weeks. I save $100 a month. After a week of not smoking I didn’t crave cigarettes so bad because the spray is not as addictive. And after two weeks the cravings were even less so then it was way easier to quit, you just have to make it there It took me about ten tries to quit I tried the lozenges and the patch but couldn’t get them to work for me. I finally quit this time for sure. I won a thing for a free tooth whitening at my dentists office, so after that I won’t dare go back.
Took a stroke for me to quit. You dont want to be in diapers.
