So I recently have been looking at CBD as perhaps a way to augment my treatment. I take Latuda, Lithium, and Zoloft and I was considering adding something to the mix to see if it would help me with anxiety, ruminating thoughts, intrusive thoughts, and paranoia.
What kind of success stories are there out there with CBD in regards to psychosis? I know it can help with diabetes and other things but let’s focus discussion on psychosis spectrum, schizophrenia, bipolar, depression, etc. Thank you in advance!
Also, how much would someone need to take to reach therapeutic doses just like with Lithium? Most likely weight dependent but I welcome all discussion.
There’s not many, if any, success stories for SZ concerning CBD. There still has to be more research and trials to be done to further evaluate its effect.
So far, its known to be good for insomnia, anxiety and relief from physical pain.
My psychiatrist doesnt recommend cbd as there are insufficient research proving its effectiveness.
For other anxiety or ruminating thoughts, maybe its helpful to turn introspective focus away from yourself by keeping busy with chores, or activities you can introduce in your life. Live less in the mind and more by doing. It can distract you.
Yoga can also help ground your thoughts and stabilize them. Hope that helps.
I used marijuana and hashish heavily when I was young.
Took just one drop of CBD isolate and had a big reaction a couple of months ago, probably because of previous drug use.
I am now taking 1 drop a day and get a calming anti-anxiety effect and maybe less insomnia.
For rumination am trying cognitive defusion.
