@Canadians Which antipsychotics did you try?

I need to know which antipsychotics are available in Canada. The best for negative symptoms. I have tried Risperdal, Olanzapine, Abilify and Latuda. Is there any other meds available in Canada?

Paliperidone is worth trying. But if risperidone doesn’t help then it probably won’t either.

I use Haldol, 2 mg. Can cause TD though but it is great for head pressure.

Oh I forgot to say I need it for negative symptoms.

I’ve tried Ability and Olanzapine. Olanzapine helps me a lot.

Are Vraylar and Geodon available in Canada?

Geodon seems good.

It has minimal anticholinergic activity.

Which is a good thing in my books

They don’t have it in the UK.

So I finally switched to Risperdal from Latuda.
All with Latuda 80mg, 0.5mg risperdal 4 days, 1mg 4days, 2mg 4 days. Then no Latuda and 3mg risperdal.

I hope Riseprdal is better, I am tired of switching meds.

I’ve tried Risperidone, Loxapine, Saphris, Invega, Abilify and Latuda, over the course of 10 years.

Right now I’m on high doses of Latuda and Abilify, plus an anti-depressant, but I forget the name. I’ve been on this combo for 3 years, it’s fine.

I’m on clozapine 500mg

I only have positive symptoms on Abilify.
I need a med for negative and cognitive symptoms.

As far as I know there are no meds for negative symptoms.:thinking::thinking:

I know, my psy said only Abilify helps negative symptoms a little. But I read that Risperdal also helps a bit. Not a med for negative symptoms but better than nothing.

KarXT and Roluperidone are future meds for negative and cognitive symptoms:
