Sounds ridiculous as always, but…can you guys hear me reading? In your heads, or out loud? Would you even know that I was reading, or what I was reading, if I hadn’t made this post?
I’ve been getting a lot better but the delusional symptoms still flare up once or twice a day. It’s been much more manageable though, especially with the people on this site supporting me.
Nope I can’t hear you. You are probably hundreds of miles away! Even if we were in the same building I couldn’t hear you ( unless you were reading using the loudspeaker lol)because human ear can reach only a limited spectrum of sounds.
I don’t get delusions but when the voices were more active, they would sometimes pretend to be people I knew. At first I thought these people must secretly be psychic. Then I realized the voices were very good at mimicking. I hit a wall when the voices started pretending to be my sister and her kids, and I yelled at the voices not to be anyone I knew. It was too traumatic. Thankfully they stopped at that time. That’s my story. Sometimes the seeming reality of the illusion is still scary when we know it’s not true.
@chew: Naw I’m usually awake until 7 AM or later. The Curse of the Night Owl.
@Sarad: I worry that people can somehow hear the things going on inside my head, inside their heads. Which is ridiculous buuuut that’s my life lol.
@Minnii: The Scorch Trials, sequel to The Maze Runner.
@SunLion: Yes! That used to happen to me constantly, and I actually wrote up some awesome advice about it. I’m gonna find that note and give it its own post.
I’m kind of surprised I can read a series like this without going bonkers. Guess that’s just my recovery in progress.
This site and the people on it are a blessing in my life.
