Im just thinking of parallels from things experienced from when high on acid (ncBome, not actual pure LSD) and on methoxetamine like
feeling paranoid that people knew I was high, every glance at me meant “they know”
intensely fearful
seeing things in my peripheral and for a split second (shadow people in the alley when taking out the trash in alley during comedown from acid, seeing dead ghost woman in the stairs out of the corner of my eye when on MXE)
I remember this one during my first acid trip in school when I was 16 lol, I told my friend in French class “I have no inner monologue, my mind is blank” and he said “I think that’s how schizophrenics are”
-did acid twice when 16
-MXE twice when 17
-acid again when i was 18, 2 months before onset of schizophrenia
I’m just curious is there any correlation between adolescent drug use and the development of psychotic disordera?
the first time I ever heard voices was under the influence of shrooms. also I remember I was very paranoid about all the noise outside my apartment.
other than that I came back down and was fine for 6 or 7 years before my voices started up on me with regularity.
I don’t think the prior use of recreational shrooms caused it. but maybe for some people. they give you a glimpse of what it’s like, except for sz there may be some mania but not really the drug euphoria feeling.
Further investigation into the many reports of people who developed psychosis after using hallucinogens, mostly in the '60s and '70s, found that the overwhelming majority of these episodes resolved themselves. Flashbacks may occur. In a few cases, it was likely that the individual already had a psychotic disorder - schizophrenia, bipolar disorder or others - and the LSD pushed them over the edge.
The problem with “street drugs” are not necessarily the drugs themselves. But, because they are illegal, and you are buying it off the street, we have no way of knowing what you are actually taking. It could be LSD. Or, it could be something completely different.
