I need to take lorazepam to fall asleep now… feels like I have brain damage from taking this medication, I used to be on 600mg xr now im on 400mg xr, anyone else have experienced this? The reduction happened 3 months ago now and I still CAN’T fall asleep without the help of other medications…
I am on 300mg. I can’t sleep without it.
I take 400 mg Seroquel and a sleeping pill (Zopiclone 7.5 mg). I can’t sleep with just taking Seroquel. I need to be knocked out with a hypnotic because I am an insomniac.
TaKe zolpidem if you are not feeling well with lorazepam, it may help,
I don’t really wanna take MORE medication but at this point I don’t have a choice, like iv’e reduced it 3 months ago and it is STILL IMPOSSIBLE to fall asleep without the use of other medication… am I going to be like this forever or will I be able to sleep normally again?
Now take sth to help it and let’s see how things go, I don’t think its a forever situation, can you say how’s wrong with lorazepam and what dose do you take?
I used to take 1mg lorazepam and cut it in half and that would work but now it’s starting not to work anymore so I have to take like 2mg.
You seem agitated to me, the only other way I can think of is a low dose of another AP like 2mg of risperidon or 5mg of haloperidol, biperidin also may help,
What do you mean I seem agitated…? Because I used caps lock on a few words? Absolute non sense I am perfectly ok I just cannot fall asleep without the help of other medication and this has been going on for over 3 months now with no end in sight.
I said this cause I felt you can not have enough sleep or the quality of your sleep is not well, I wanted to say take acetaminophen codeine alongside lorazepam but it will cause addiction, I don’t judge people because they use caps lock,
If you keep taking meds to sleep, you will never not need meds to sleep. You can’t just replace seroquel with lorazepam and expect the issue to resolve itself on its own. You have to let your body adjust to being on a lower dose without resorting to other sleep meds. Either lower your dose gradually and/or just accept that you will have sleepless nights for a while.
Maybe you should tey neocitran for falling asleep. It will help you fall asleep without providing the side effects that other medications can cause.
This is exactly what happened to me on Olanzapine.
When I quit I couldn’t sleep AT ALL.
It took me about 6 months before I was able to fall asleep and to this day (about 14 month after quitting) I can only sleep 3 hours.
I’ve been on 1.5mg clonazepam before bed to sleep for over a year now.
I’m speaking with a forum lurker who is going through what I am with Olanzapine.
Yeah i never had problems sleeping on antipsychotics. I just close my eyes and fall asleep
The only antipsychotics that Can solve this problem for me is Clopixol. I’ve substituted 550 mg Seroquel with 10 mgs Clopixol (the most sedating antipsychotics ever made)
Never heard of clopixol b4.
I’m afraid you gonna relay on other meds to fall asleep for a long time into the future. You see Geodon and Seroquel is addictive as some illegale narcotics and you’ll have a long addiction problem with Seroquel so it’s good that you’ve substituted Seroquel with some less harmful meds.
I took seroquel for a few nights. It made me sleep 14 hours. Stopped taking it
There is this food supplement called L-Theanine which makes you calm and aids with sleep.
Maybe it is not some braindamage, but the AP that you don’t tolerate so good at 400mg and you feel its effects differently.
Maybe thats what it is.
