BuSpar for Anxiety

My GP prescribed me BuSpar for my anxiety. Anyone have experience with this medication? What can I expect?

I have no experience with buspar only with Xanax.

But I will say the best thing that has helped my anxiety is to do long walks and exercise!

I’m coming off Xanax. I was taking too much of it.

I don’t take it either anymore. I try to manage my anxiety through exercise and breathing exercises now.

I’d give that a shot if it wasn’t for my avolition. Can never seem to win with SZ. :stuck_out_tongue:

I know. Sometimes popping a pill is the easy solution. Don’t worry you’ll have plenty of time to try other ways to deal with anxiety :grinning:

I take Buspar. I feel it helps with anxiety. :tropical_fish::tropical_fish::tropical_fish:

I took it for a short period of time and it really boosted my mood. I thought it worked well.

I stopped taking it because it was making me too dizzy

Kind of lightheaded

What I read about buspar is either really helpful or doesnt do much. Main side effect is tiredness and dizziness. I take an SSRI for anxiety and depression. Never really tried buspirone

I took it for a few weeks. I dont remember how it was, or why i stopped it.

I take it. It takes the edge off my anxiety. I was a bit dizzy when I first started it for about a month. But I’m not having any problems with it now

I’m on it now it’s ok for anxiety defiently not as strong or potent as Ativan for instance…it’s just ok. As is with me lately I’m more in the residual negative symptom criteria and physical exercise is the only thing that really works to enhance effects I guess of cognition and drugs
