Anyone struggle with it? For a while i thought it was better to not brush lol thats how insane i was.
I brush my teeth 4 or 5 times a day.
And I’m on invisalign orthodontic treatment to improve my smile.
For me it’s so important to have a beautiful smile.
Big problem before onset, after diagnosis and still struggling.
you have to realize that self care and hygiene is important and any Neglecting of this is part of schizophrenia disease specifically negative symptoms
I would say neglect, due to cognitive and positive symptoms are just as responsible for poor self care as negative symptoms for me.
I brush my teeth once a day before going to bed.
Maybe next time I go to the dentist I will ask what my options for whitening are.
I have the same problem. Especially when I’m depressed.
I do it most nights now but only mornings when I go out (which isn’t often).
Same here. Floss and brush. I think I have weak teeth though.
I brush with my sonicare,
Floss sometimes.
Need to go to the dentist,
But afraid of the costs.
Yes. I used to. Med damage to cognitive function + high anxiety = forgetfulness. I try to force myself to do such things now. Luckily I have strong teeth. They didn’t suffer. I even bought a nice clean toothbrush this morning.
If it were me, I’d be out in a hut in the jungle with no showers or toothbrushes or fancy clothes…as humanbeings are supposed to live. But as all my fellow citizens here disagree…and find showers and toothbrushes and fashion highly important…I’ll adjust. It makes me look a bit more normal.
I was great about it for ages, but I stopped taking care of myself at all for a while. I’m trying to get back in the saddle, so to speak, and I’m doing better but not as well as I’d like.
I went thru a spot where I didn’t brush my teeth for months, but I went to the dentist and he said my teeth were okay but my gums sucked. So I started brushing again and flossing once a day. It takes quite a lot of effort to do this simple thing, but I manage. It helps that I bought chocolate flavored toothpaste!
Umm, there’s such a thing as brushing too much. Toothpaste can have abrasive ingredients and too much brushing can cause unnecessary wear and tear on your teeth.
I usually brush once a day I read it can help you mentally and physically to brush your teeth and get rid of bacteria
I go to the dentist every six months. I have good teeth
My 78 year old dad has bad teeth
I think it depends on the tothpaste. Mine is so soft.
Yeah, maybe. Wouldn’t hurt to ask your dentists opinion on the matter.
Unless you’re using an electric toothbrush overly emphatically I doubt that brushing is going to lead to wear on your enamel
Oh yes. They know about that and they say it’s ok.
OK, everything is fine then.
I use a soft electric toothbrush.
