My brother called me up earlier today and he is stepping up
He said that our father is nearing the end.
He’s hardly eating much and not drinking as much.
My father lost 21 pounds within a month.
My brother is preparing me for a life without my dad.
He’s getting me extra support through the mi charity I belong to.
I plan on living by myself for the first time ever.
He told me that he will be there for me in the future.
He doesn’t live far away.
But yeah the hurricane is nearing but I think that I’ll be ready for it.

I’m very sad too but he’s lived a very long life.
He’s 91 years old
My brother is also very close to him but like me he is at peace with it.

For now my father still has his mind
His body is turning against him
But what do you expect at 91
My brother will get a nurse and home health aides to come over our house to make his final days comfortable

I’m sorry @Wave . Your dad made good years. Not everyone has the privilege to reach his age. Try to spent some time with him in his last days/hours. Soon his place will be empty and his voice silent, forever.

I am in the same situation with my mother. Me and my sister accept her passing away. But my dad is fighting for her to improve. I am bracing myself but it feels like something is embracing me with my faith. I am taking things one day at a time. I have the strength and grace at the moment to deal with this. But I still don’t know what to expect.

My dad is getting old. We never bonded, we are the complete opposites. But I’ll miss him when he’s gone.
