My dad will die very soon. Things are progressing fast. After an amazing recovery back just before Christmas, a month ago things started to get very bad. My sister just sent this text a bit ago.
I talked to the doctor and the nurse. His lungs are filled with fluid, he has a bladder infection and white blood cells (sign if infection), low on potassium so his heart is working very hard. The nurse says he’ll get me a recliner and recommends that I stay (even though the doctor said I could go) because they are short staffed and the waiting room is full. The wards are full too. They will start him on IV antibiotics and he’ll be admitted sometime. CT brain scan now
My dad is 90 and has lived a healthy and good life. He’s an amazing and caring father and husband to my mom. He has been praying to die soon this last month. I hope his prayers are answered. I don’t want him suffering anymore.
Lost my father also, was very hard to lose both parents. Wishing you good luck. And be sure to take care of yourself and ask for help when you need it.
I’m so sorry. I really feel for you. I’m not ready for that to come someday. I’m so sorry you’re losing him. Hang in there. I hope you find some comfort to help you get through this
I just lost my dad in August. To Covid though. Sorry you are going through this. It’s tough. The palliative care team was great though. We asked a lot of questions. They were very supportive.
I’m so sorry @FatMama. I hope that they are able to keep your father comfortable. I know how difficult it is to lose a parent. Take care of yourself and ask for help if you need it.
