Bought a pocket knife to take with me wherever i go

Obviously 99,9 percent of the time i won;t need it, but it doesn’t hurt to have it, It’s legal and fine where i live. It has many uses

if anyone wants to see a pic of it let me know

Unless you are going camping, it is only an invite and escalation of crime.

If you felt you had to use it then do you know what a psychiatric prison is like? It is worse than a normal prison. One previous guy I met at hospital described it as “Hell within a hell!”

Surely, if threatened it is better to take a beating than escalate to a knifing/death/murder and run the risk of being incarcerated in a schizophrenic prison?

Silly really…

this is why it’s a pocket knife. It’s designed to be concealed as in nobody sees it. Has many uses other than self defense

I think carrying a knife of any kind when you are severely mentally ill is a seriously bad thing. What if your paranoia got out of hand and you stabbed someone ?

I am stable cause i am on meds

I’m guessing you don’t drive cars

not trying to be rude, just wondering your logic

why even go outside when theres risk?

I am not breaking any laws, knives are 100 percent legal so why not?(as long as there concealed)

The fact that you see the need to carry a knife around with you suggests there’s already a level of paranoia there. Most people don’t see the need to carry around knives. Your knife may be legal but it could still be used for an illegal purpose if your paranoia escalated. You may be stable now but can you guarantee you’ll always be stable?

A pepper spray is better but i’m not that paranoid anymore

It’s highly unlikely a pepper spray would kill. A knife is far more likely to.

That’s my point @firemonkey It’s less dangerous pepper spray, right?

It’s far less dangerous.

so you are cool with keeping knives in your kitchen drawer(the knives in your kitchen drawer aren’t foldable), but not in your pocket?(foldable knife) I’m not gonna take too long with this thread.

You are far more likely to use a knife for bad reasons that you carry in your pocket than one you have in your kitchen to chop meat and vegetables with.

The fact that you can’t see that, and are making specious comparisons , is worrying.

I’ve been carrying a pocket knife since I was a kid. Have never been involved in a crime with it or threatened someone else. I find myself using it several times per week, at least. I swapped out my Swiss Army Knife for a Leatherman Pocket Survival Tool around 2004 when they first started adding knives to them. I’ve been carrying the same Leatherman with me ever since.

I’m sort of a big guy, so I never had anyone mess with me physically. Lots of verbal abuse tho. I used to carry a knife when I was a kid, had no idea about the legality of it then, glad I’m more careful these days.

If you’re living in a dangerous area obviously it makes sense to bring something you can protect yourself with. A knife is an unusual choice tho. There’s no way brandishing one of those to a hostile person wouldn’t turn ugly real fast. You’re better off learning parkour and escape strategies.

I’d like to see a pic of it. I have a couple myself. They’re great for all kinds of things.

I’m too paranoid to carry around a knife.

I don’t see any big deal with carrying a small pocket knife if it’s within the legal standards of where you live. Lots of people carry pocket knives and they come in handy at different times. No big deal. Now if you start carrying a machete, that might be different!
