Books about mental illnesses?

Any suggestions?

No one ever told me to believe like thee
Strange days indeed
Most peculiar mama whoa!

-John Lennon

Well, that isn’t the lyric but maybe you changed it on purpose.

John was rock and roll and Paul was Pop.

What I meant posting those lyrics is that no mental health professionals ever tried to educate me about my illness. I would have benefitted from knowing more. Even stuff I learned here. Oh, I am not the only dead person? I could have benefitted from knowing that!

Well actually, each of them tended to overlap in each genre.

the first thirty pages of my book are on the home page of this forum under schizophrenia success stories…it is my delusional journey I went through when I was ill…its called “OUT OF IT”.

One of the best books I ever bought was; Toxic Psychiatry by Peter Breggins, a Harvard Psychiatrist.

“Surviving Schizophrenia” by Dr. E. Fuller Torrey. A good resource that doesn’t sugar coat the illness but also offers a lot of good suggestions for dealing with this illness.
