Body language?

I feel like I’m pretty bad with body language. Can anyone give some good body language tips? Does anyone here feel like they are competent with body language?

I think the whole body language thing is over hyped. I think it’s a pseudo science. Like reading tea leaves.

About 60% of communication is body language, so it’s very important to know the do’s and don’ts:

Do

smile
stand more than 2 feet away from person
stand square facing the person
arms to your sides
palms open and facing

Dont’s

mean face (squint)
stand within 2 feet of person
lean on one hip
palms closed
finger point
fold arms
cross legs
hands on hips
stand off center to person
sway from side to side

Your body language should say you’re friendly, not confrontational.

I heard they say only 7% of communication is verbal (what u say) the rest is body language and tone. My problem with so many of these kids using the internet and only using 7% of communication. I think it doesn’t have to be destructive. Never try to be something you’re not on the internet. I blame many of my difficulties growing up on the internet because 93% of communication I had no clue about. So now I’m careful how I use the internet because anyone can be tough on the internet. Rather get bullied than be a bully. Rather thicken my skin than become a fraud.

True. That’s why it’s a good idea to use an emoji if you feel there’s any uncertainty.

Internet communication should be treated as a face-to-face conversation.

Yeah I guess there is some tone on the internet. But a lot is lost.

… can indicate tone. And stuff. Like ALL CAPS.

But I know 30 years olds who still hide behind their computers and act tough. They’re really lost in life…
