Anyone into board games? I’m receiving Slay the spire the board game tomorrow I got from backing the kickstarter. I will mostly be playing it alone I think. There’s a lot of board games you can play solo if you don’t have anyone to play with. I just hope I don’t get eye fatigue from reading the cards, like I get from reading comic books, that didn’t work out. I hope I can get into board gaming without issue.
I used to play mahjong a bit before, but it’s been a while. Now I mostly play different variations of solitaire with a deck of cards.
Sometimes I also play crazy eights or hearts , but against the amiga computer.
I love Monopoly and have a special edition Monopoly / Rolling Stones Monopoly I play with friends…I have a Pente’ game…oklahoman board game that was invented by students of Oklahoma…lovely game with glass beads you try to “capture” or get four in a row unclosed…backgammon is always a good time…chess for the elite minded…too hard for me to strategize.
I need to learn solitaire, is it complicated? Seems fun though. I’m gonna purchase a deck of cards soon, good to have.
Monopoly is really fun, I agree. I saw a YouTube vid earlier today about a guy who was the world champion and he shared his tactics. Chess is damned hard, I played it for a while but stopped as you need to get really into it to get good. For the elite minded for sure.
Some of them can be, but there are easy to understand ones as well, you can probably read up on it online somewhere. There are a ton of different variations. Like 50+ at least.
I play klondike and pyramid which are some of the most well known, and another I don’t know the name of.
Shuffeling the cards is a part of the charm in a way. It’s a ritual to make me calm, and using the hands is a good way to do that.
Hero Quest! A boardgame which had legal fallout with a favorite video game of mine, Quest for Glory!
You would really like Tabletop Simulator on Steam. Played many of games of Red Dragon Inn on there
I love Monopoly! I used to really like Risk but haven’t played either in years. I also like chess but I’m horrible at it.
Not anymore, but when I was younger, I liked to play Axis and Allies. I probably played 30 games or so of that game and never once lost. Whether it was one on one or team play, I always came out on top regardless of which side I was on.
Probably because you were good at it!
