I am going to start bike riding tomorrow. I need to lose about 70 pounds and I know this would be a good way to lose it. I got scared this morning because my blood sugar was 221 when I woke up. Its been a while since I checked it but it never use to be that high. Between being overweight and taking antipsychotic medicine I got diabetes. I need to get my blood sugar to where it is around 100 in the morning and throughout the day…except for right after I eat. Anyways, between bike riding and being on a low carb diet I hope I can lose the 70 pounds. I am hoping to lose 4 pounds a week.

What condition is your bike in? Is your bike a lightweight bike? If down the road you prefer bike riding, you may want to try out a lightweight bike similar to a Cannondale. If you are not familiar with a Cannondale bike, go to a specialty bike store and take a trial ride on one.
Hope you found something that works for you.
I have a slight overweight problem too and I ride my bicycle almost every day, at least when it is not broken. However I have noticed that I do not lose so much weight in bicycle riding as I might lose in walking. However, riding is good exercise and one gets additional free fresh air.
