got a text from a mirrored government site and had to cancel my card after submitting my details without checking properly.
It was for the winter fuel payment!
i checked my bank account and they didn’t take any payments and the card is now blocked!
7 days until i get the new card!

Good job blocking the card as soon as you noticed. I really don’t like scammers, it’s just annoying, they will not leave you alone, they go by text, phone, email - everywhere you can be contacted.
I got a call from FedEx again I disconnected even before interacting.
You won’t believe me the. When I came out of home the FedEx was right in front of my home.
I went and informed about scammers they said go report it to cops.
I say I am not worried you guys need to do something about it.as your reputation is getting impacted !!

i’m usually pretty good, but my guard was down for some reason.
it is also a good way to budget if you can’t buy anything for a week without the card!
I usually pay by my phone via Apple Pay.
It’s very practical then you don’t have to take a wallet along.
my google wallet is connected to my card though!
the bank has given me the details though, but to use the wallet the card needs to be chipped and pinned manually to swipe it in the future.
Something similar happened to me recently. Nothing came of it, as it was a legitimate website but I entered my card details instead of paying with PayPal.

If the scammers had been quicker then they could have harvested my account. Probably trawling through 1000’s of people’s data though.
No, it’s a legitimate website (I know that now but didn’t at the time). So I didn’t cancel my card. It was over 2 months ago and nothing untoward has happened.
