Best aspect of your intelligence

What you smart at? We all have strengths and weaknesses otherwise we wouldn’t be on this board! Or alive! (Evolution means everybodies smart, I like to think of it as the glass half full instead of half empty, so everybody is smart!) It could be creative intelligence , it could be logic, emotional intelligence. Many things. For me, it is my memory. I have a great memory. My mom knows it and said “our neighbor has a GREAT memory, which says a lot about intelligence if you have a great memory”. That was her way of indirectly complimenting me.

No such thing as “half” empty or full. The glass is always full. Fullness can’t be “halved”.

Doesn’t quite tickle as the first time the thought came.

Einstein believed that imagination was more important than intelligence. Then there was that book “Emotional Intelligence” which said that character was more important than intelligence. There are a lot of different forms of intelligence, some of which don’t get measured on the I.Q. tests. I’m a little uneasy with the idea that all the mental activity we call “intelligence” can be reduced to a single number. My doctor told me a while back that if you have an I.Q. of 120 or so, you are smart enough to do anything you want. There are a lot of jobs I couldn’t do, though, because my manual dexterity is so bad. I couldn’t be a paramedic, for example. I hate to think of holding someone’s life in my clumsy hands.

I don’t think I could ever claim to be intelligent though. As far as I see it it is an appearance. It may translate into being able to do various tasks, but. Claiming intelligence is like a pipe claiming itself to be the water that is passing through it.

Do you have a120+ iq? I was professionally tested at exactly 120 by a psychologist. I did really well on the math parts of it. Good post. I agree intelligence can’t be quantified so simply. I read120 is the peak iq for creativity because if you have over 120 iq, life comes too easy for creativity. But intelligence is associated with creativity. So the bell curve depicts 120 as the most creative iq. Which fed into my delusions that I was Jesus the creative guy when I’m more on the logical side. Left brained I think.

I’m dumbed down by my disease. I used to be able to design mansions and now I haven’t done that in nineteen years and I just like to paint now. That and play the guitar. Not much intelligence like I had before I got sick.

My IQ measure 127 on the WAIS test. On the ASVAAB (the army aptitude test) I scored 138 on general background knowledge. I scored 136 on an IQ test someone posted on this site. I think the different IQ tests are skewed a little bit towards different measures of intelligence. Life never has been easy for me, though. Sz has always tormented me.

I hadn’t really thought about it before, but I suppose it’s thinking far ahead rather than short term thinking.

Ya I could tell you’re very smart! I’m trying to “apply” my intelligence to adhere to my strengths. I think it makes im smart that I’m only 26 and learning how to play towards my strengths rather than be good at EVERYThING. Like some ppl do. I’m sometimes guilty of the opposite but the last couple days I’ve been playing towards my strengths. Smart move@chew. :pensive:

But a disability that doesn’t affect iq (all that much) certainly bends the rules of IQ and success.

@minnii do something! they’re talking about iq scores again :sob:

Some of the highest IQ’s come with the lack of common sense, and honestly, I’d pick someone that’s kind over someone with a high IQ anyday.

How come those with a high IQ have to be the one to tell you they have it? Why don’t their behavior show it instead?
(This is only in describing my family, not anyone on this forum)

My 3 older brothers, 2 of them anyway, used to constantly describe ‘us kids’ as:
the oldest brother = a certified genius- (just ask him)…
The next brother= certified genius also- ( just ask!)
The next brother, well, obviously very smart (just observe him)
Then me: she’s the youngest sister.:crying_cat_face:

I know what it’s like to be the youngest too! My sister will always think she’s got the upper hand on me!!! And she did. Cuz she used to put me down a lot and lie to me when we were kids!
