Benzos and mood and I’m screwed?

Can benzos cause depression or extreme low mood? I feel so down I can hardly breathe. To make matters worse, I have a social event today that I really can’t get out of. I’m screwed. The voices keep repeating I did this to myself I deserve this. I’m losing my mind!!!

I’m not sure I don’t know anything about benzos but I’d talk to your doctor. Have you been taking them for a long time?

Yes when i take too much benzos I get to the point of “theres no hope of getting better” just gotta let the feeling go away tbh it sucks but usually it ends and when I say too much I tend to while manic to come down without getting into trouble I take it to the point where it’s abuse I hate to admit it but it’s called a “med hangover” I used to take too much so people could fall asleep

Thank you for sharing your experience and for understanding @AwesomeFisherman I really appreciate that!! That makes me feel not alone in this. I guess this can happen to people unfortunately. I never heard of a med hangover but that’s interesting!!

I take desvenlafaxine. It usually works so well.

I am ready to throw these benzos in the trash.

Sounds like depression and positve SZ symptoms together

I have both

My voices tell me the same

Once my feelings get overtaken I Just want to sleep or be left alone for months

Sleep and Abilify stop my feelings from getting me down I personally care less what the voices say until it gets to my feelings then I am worthless when my feelings are hurt or exhausted

I do not want to become dependent or addicted to benzos. They cause depression and overeating for me. I have used them 3 times this past week which is too often!!

I took ativan 1 to 2mg for a year straight every day and stopped for the same reason

It’s a very slippery slope, isn’t it?

I just meditated and that helped me a tiny bit. I don’t want any benzos anymore.

I would not want them either, but I am a very addictive person who is also concerned about putting addictive things in my body daily

I understand this is really between you and a doctor though

benzos made me severely depressed and emotionally unstable for over a year after i stopped taking them. it started when i stopped them for a few weeks but when i took it again thinking itd fix it things just got worse

@cigarino Thank you for sharing your experience. I used to take clonazepam daily for many years until my old dr took me off of it. My mood improved!! But then she put me on a PRN benzo. I should have known better and not taken this PRN benzo at all!! It messes with my mood for sure.

I am stopping the PRN benzo use as of today.
