Took 20 mg oxazepam last night and slept like a baby. Id forgotten how important good sleep is to mental health
My question is, and Ive found conflicting info online, is a benzo-induced sleep as good as regular sleep? I would think not, but why do I feel so refreshed then?
I have been taking 1.5mg of clonazepam every night for months, I can’t sleep without it. The sleep is pretty good but I can feel the tranquilizing effects of it the next day, it takes a large cup of coffee and couple hours to shake it off.
But yeah, benzo sleep is technically worse than a natural sleep, but if you can’t sleep naturally it’s better than no sleep at all in my experience.
The only other benzo I’ve tried is lorazepam, that will put me too sleep too, but I prefer clonazepam, it seems to do a better job for me.
@Schwann wow everyones different I guess! I also find benzos to be very non addictive for me, even xanax. But I know some people have deep troubles with it
@Headspark I woke up full of energy its weird. Ive only been on a benzo for about a month so well see if this keeps up. Sorry you have trouble sleeping btw, its a nightmare in my experience but part of me really enjoys it for some reason
I used to get good sleep on 2 mgs of Ativan back in the day, heck, way back in the day 1 mg would put me to sleep. But over time developed tolerance and fast forward to the effect it has on me now. I only use Ativan for a specific phobia. I have a fear of traveling at highway speeds. So when I’m going to travel I call my doc and she phones in the rx. I take 2 mgs there and 2 mgs back. I completely blackout the whole trip. I don’t fall asleep, I just have almost no memory. It’s really weird, but I get through it without jumping out of the car.
