I Got a nice book today in the post, It was a nice surprise and i am very keen on reading it,
I hope i have the concentration and headspace to read it all the way through, the title is simply ‘Being Human’ & I really want to know if it can help me be a better person,
All this time i have been alive and nobody ever taught me how to be human, i just learned from my Mum & Dad & friends, teachers & assumed that was all i needed, I try my best to be the best i can be despite my hidden illness, I will take all the help i can get in order to be the best i can be.
The way we think and behave all come from observations and imitations of others like Mum/Dad, Friends, Teachers & we see what they do & say growing up and emulate that.
I think we try to choose the best qualities but sometimes we pick up bad qualities as well, for instance i have some of my dads humour (i have elements of my Mum & Dad mostly)
I read 5 pages of the introduction last night & it was very captivating, It was talking about our culture in society and comparing it to a house with subsidence vs a house with just a few cracks it then went on to compare a game of Jenga to how a society might break down (it was also tangibly connected to the way people may not cope as well)
it was 3 stages with the bottom stage being our foundations, it was said that every time an element or block (Jenga piece) was removed it was placed on top making the rest of the structure more unstable.
Its a good start to the book so i am really hoping to read more, it has taken a long time to find the time to read the first 5 pahes of the introduction, i hope i learn a lot from it
