My psychiatric clinic closed early because they were spraying for bedbugs. Last night a client who I’m friends with told me exactly who brought them in. It’s this ocd guy who is always carrying a suitcase. My friend was there when they searched his suitcase and found bedbugs.
The only time I think that I encountered bedbugs was when I was in a group home owned by a hospital for about a week. I slept in a bed there and woke up itchy.
I’ve never really encountered them, but I used to stay at a place called Crisis Care which would put all your incoming belongings in a little tent and heat it up a lot. You’d have to wear scrubs while your clothes were being treated. The whole purpose of the treatment was to kill bed bugs.
My friend just went through the whole bedbug nightmare at her apartment. Had to throw out her upholstered furniture, got treated twice, just an awful situation.
When I was homeless, I stayed at a Mission sometimes, and the first thing you had to do was take a shower full of nasty chemicals, supposedly to kill bugs etc. But then you put YOUR SAME CLOTHES back on. And meantime while you were in the shower, the scumbags ripped off all your sht. Bstards.
I have had to deal with bed bugs before. One independent loving facility where I lived had them. I went to the doctor and had to put a cream on my legs to get them off. I moved from that independent living facility to a better one. From what I’ve heard they are difficult to get rid of.
read about bedbug reproduction they do something called traumatic penetration
i looked around the hotel room and found the hole they were crawling back to, it was crusted with dried blood from when some squeezed out of them when they went through
If you put rubbing alcohol in an old spray bottle like windex and spray all your baseboards, the box spring of your bed and inside it, you’ll have to tear the cover off and all around the creases of your mattress it’ll help for sure, also if you find out who you got them from and just stay away from them then it would help a lot, I’m a pest control worker, thought this would help
Also if they’re in your dresser then taking the drawers out and spraying them good would help alot
Thanks @Dizzy. So far I haven’t seen any on me or in my apartment. I really didn’t see any at my psychiatric clinic. The guy I mentioned brought them in to the clinic, so they had exterminators spray the entire clinic.
I just hope they got them all. I’m not going to get near that guy though.
No problem, it’s a lot cheaper to do that then have a big company come in a spray for $1000 sometimes, that might cost $150 in rubbing alcohol and that would be a lot, it’s a good home remedy, also keeping your cloths in garbage bags and drying them in the dryer is a good idea if they get really bad
