Bad news at the dentist today

I grind my teeth while I sleep… So I cracked one two nights ago… It has become infected and hurts my whole face… The only option is take antibiotics the next 3 days so it goes away long enough to extract it… They said the infection will return and stronger if I don’t come up with the 300$ for the surgical extraction…and it will spread and become life threatening soon…it has already spread up and the doc was worried it will head for my brain again… Im very worried…I hope o can find the money for the extraction before it kills me…wish me luck…

you should put something in your mouth, so that you don’t grind your teeth during sleep?

could save you 300$, or your life, next time?

I really hope you fare okay, bud.

oh flame, its harsch… good luck then, really  me too, i grind my teeth but for the moment its okay. my dentist said that meds are probably also ruining our teeth

Try a different dentist. Mine wanted to do a root canal with a crown…$2200. and when I laughed and said yank that tooth out instead, he charged me $60.

I had an infection so bad in one tooth that it actually moved my jawbone (said same dentist),
I think it’s also the reason why I was psychotic…because after they fixed the tooth, the psychosis subsided.
happened twice.

I have to have a lot of dental work done…I lost several teeth when I had a breathing tube in my mouth for two weeks. I grind my teeth too, and I guess some of them broke off when they ground against the tube. I admit I also don’t take care of my teeth as good as I should. I’m also terrified of the dentist…mom and dad said they’d pay to fix my teeth, but they have to wait until my mom and her brother sell some property my grandfather left them when he died. It’ll be sedation dentistry, otherwise I wouldn’t agree to go…I don’t care what they do to me as long as they knock me out first. That crappy Novocaine doesn’t work on me…

I used to grind my teeth to, my adult teeth quit growing due to fever, so they were weak to begin with, no cavities but nothing but pain with them, hope you can get help with it.

Was the cheapest dentist within 50 miles… If it wasn’t a surgical removal would be 80 bucks…the way the tooth broke though there’s not enough to go in and just yank it… And I’m also immune to novacaine the last tooth I had yanked was without numbing or gas…but I don’t think I would be able to stand the slicing and other things the surgical removal entails without being knocked out…

Can you ask your mom to loan you the money? Explain that this is a serious life threatening situation if left untreated. I don’t want to scare you @flameoftherhine but this is really serious.

im going to try tomm… id prefer not to perish from infection… it was very much painful the last time I had a tooth pulled and it got infected and was going after my brain… Id rather not experience it again… no amount of pain killers was even touching that pain… I spent 10 days in a part of the hospital they had the cancer patients receiving hospice…I don’t know how many of my 9 lives I have left…

I had infections from bad teeth before. I had to have most of my teeth removed. It’s scary I hope you can get the money

I just take ibuprofen. lots of ibuprofen. about 8 for a toothache.

Its the infection causing most the pain…

Do you think your dentist could do a payment plan of some kind?

No money must be paid in full before services rendered… I can feel it behind my eye now swelling has increased… I think my parents will help with this…if its not already past the dangerously bad for me zone its getting very close…

Can you call them tonight (it’s only 10pm on the west coast)? Tell them it’s an emergency and you really need to get the tooth out ASAP.

Friday afternoon was the earliest… They need the infection to go away before they cut it out…fear of spreading it to my blood… It would be unsafe to do it before friday and only if the infection has receded to a safe level…

I wish you luck. I know it isn’t the same but I remember ripping out teeth when I was little. Much harder when the body doesn’t want you to do it though.

It’s called bruxism … I think some sort of prosthesis exist which can be used to protect the teeth.
