Thanks Daze. I appreciate your post. Butā¦
I figure that they are seriously considering me.
If they are going to interview me even after I made a couple of job seeking blunders then they must be pretty interested in me.
I have never told any of my employers at my 25 or 30 different jobs Iāve had in 33 years that I am mentally ill. I should qualify that by saying that a few of my employers have hired me from mental health programs that they had arrangements with to fill positions and they knew who they were getting. But most of my jobs were at regular businesses who didnāt have mental health ties and my illness didnāt play a factor in my performance so I saw no need to bring it up.
I figure that they will bring it up whether this is a temporary or a long term employment. I canāt see in this situation that they would not mention whether this is temporary or permanent.
Even though in this company it might seem relevant, this seems like something they are not helping in any case, but wanting someone to fill their mission.
Think competition. Think how you can be better than someone else. Sell.
Hey Nick, you helped me out once when my own son had got a job. I want to wish you best of luck with the interview, good wishes never hurt! I get you about the stress, and the ageā¦ugh, Iām 55 this year. Just remember to give yourself down time, and be picky about what you stress about. Yeah, I know that can be tricky, I am the ultimate worrywort, but just be good to yourself. I have my fingers crossed for Monday!
It did for awhile. The restaurant closed, he picked up another dishwash job. But that place had a much higher volume, he decided to quit. It was the first time he had ever put in a two week notice, so that was on the plus side. He does side jobs now with one of the guys he worked with before, it seems to be working out okay. Plus it makes him feel good and keeps him somewhat active.
