I’ve only heard of autistic people taking risperdal for irritability. What’s the difference between risperdal and other antipsychotics? I have schizophrenia and I take latuda and I’m currently getting tested for autism. I think latuda really took the edge off for me as well as being an antipsychotic.
I used to work at a facility for people with autism, and they took all kinds of psych meds. I had students on Geodon, Abilify, Risperidone, seroquel, depakote, etc. that’s actually how I learned so much about the meds prior to being diagnosed and trying them myself. Risperidone is just the most popular, because it’s cheap and it’s approved for pediatric use.

I’m less prone to meltdowns since I’ve been on Consta and now Paliperidone. Due the start of ASD assessment on the February 13th.
