Zyprexa is quite unlikely, however it runs a risk of diabetes and weight gain. Clozapine is another alternative you could mention to your pdoc, zyprexa is basically a clone of clozapine
Psychiatrist I think told me seroquel was more sedating than activating. I’m on risperidone which he said was neutral and shouldn’t really sedate or activate and I’ve had no akesthesia so far. Abilify gave me terrible akesthesia right off the bat.
Seroquel and clozapine supposedly cause the least akathisia because they are fast off antipsychotics. They dont occupy the d2 receptor for a long time. They might cause eps but they cause it the least says research
Clozapine is a med of last resort only. It was banned once for its blood side effects but put back in use only for people who dont respond to other meds. And supposedly has a list or database where if your white blood cell levels lower you get put on the list and cant take it ever again
I’ve had good luck with Geodon and Seroquel, if that’s any help. Sometimes I think I might be getting a few tremors, though. I hope it’s not Parkinson’s.
