I feel old around the younger folk, but then older people will laugh and tell me I’m young too.
My mom is close to 70 and my therapist recently commented on how young SHE still is. My mom isn’t 100 years old yet, but I don’t know that I would call her a young woman.
This cute girl said to me the other day ‘you remind me of what I’m gonna look like when I’m older’ lol… I was babysitting some kids. She must have been around 10.
i no longer thought of myself as young when i turned 30. but now that im 35, i don’t worry about age anymore. my 30’s are better than my 20’s. albeit a little boring.
Age doesn’t matter much, sz made me feel like 70+ y.o. and I am 30. I stay in bed all day everyday, only get up to eat. In bed I am either sleeping or on this forum.
I think you’re officially old when you surpass life’s expectancy, so I’d say 80. My mom is in her 70s, and she’s still very healthy, physically fit, and active. It’s hard to think of her as old
I work in aged care, so my perception on ageing is likely to be different. As far as I’m concerned, you aren’t “old” until around 80 - 90 years old. But even at this age it is possible to still feel quite young. My grandparents are still alive, fit and well. One is 85 yo and the other just turned 90 yo. I think ones attitude to life and ageing makes a big difference on how well you age. My experience is those who complain of being old or feeling old when they’re not, tend to age faster and become disabled early. Whereas people who maintain a youthful attitude tend to stay healthier for a longer time with less disabilities.
