Well, I may be old and senile, so correct me if I’m wrong, but in my 59 years, I’ve never really heard a specific, definitive age that everybody agrees on that when you reach it, you’re old.
I think the last time I told someone my age and they said, “Oh, you’re still young”, was when I was 38.
Hell, in my late 30’s I was unloading trucks alongside a bunch of teenagers and twenty-somethings and I was outworking most of them handily and I worked harder and faster than any of them.
I’ve been a janitor for the last 7 years and I’ve slowed way down but at age 59 I’m still competitive.
“There may be snow on the rooftop but there’s still a fire in the furnace”.
You’re only officially old when you give up imo, I remember last time I went to the gym there were a couple of guys in their 60’s and 70’s that were jacked. Its inspiring to see people who are considered to be “old” by some, to still be youthful.
My all time favorite job was unloading trucks for Wal Mart. It was when I was 19, I took a gap year before college. I worked with lots of older folks, and I got really strong doing the job. I could lift those pallets up above my head and toss 'em onto a stack. I also knew how to operate the forklift.
Maybe The Term “old” Should Be Changed to Obsolete. That Way Innocent Bystanders Don’t Get Hurt By The Usual Term Peoples Use With No Tendency to Care About Emotions of Those Jus Living Their Lives Not Hurting Themselves or Anyone Else.
