Asking my doctor for more Wellbutrin. What do you think?

Mornings are my best time.

By far.

I crash at around 1pm and kind of struggle through the day until dinner.

I realized I haven’t been taking my Wellbutrin correctly.

I’m taking both pills in the morning instead of one in the am and one pm.

Would it be reasonable to ask for him to double it so I can have the same dose in the pm?

Might not hit such a wall.

What do you think?

Could try taking one in the morning and one later like meant to and see how it goes first

My husband recommended that too,

But it’s a low dose.

I don’t think it’ll have the same impact.

Trying out the dosage might really help you can always change back if you don’t like the result

Are you taking the extended release or regular? With XR it shouldn’t matter what time of day.

Regular.

I have a problem with the XR ones.

Me too, I’m out.

You should take your meds as prescribed by your doctor. Doubling your dose could be dangerous.

Try it as prescribed because your doctor prescribed it to you that way for a reason.

I agree you should take medication as prescribed,

But I feel comfortable increasing the dose, because even with it doubled,

I’ve been on higher doses.

I don’t know.

We’ll see.

In the case of my family doctor it’s because she was trained badly in Africa and no one corrected it before allowing her to practice in Canada. My cardiologist thinks she is dangerous.

Isn’t Wellbutrin a stimulating drug? Then you should take it in the morning.

Wellbutrin can be activating so i wouldn’t take it at night. I take 350mg in the morning and i dont crash till around 7pm

@Charles_Foster Have you tried Wellbutrin XR? Would that get rid of the “crash” feeling? Does it help you a lot because I talked to my doc. Monday and she is considering putting me on the smallest dose of Wellbutrine. I’ve been sleeping the days away and cant seem to motivate myself. Im really hopeful this is a game-changer for me as nothing else seems to work enough to lift me out of this.

I have tried Welbutrin XR.

The pills don’t agree with my stomach and I have to take the regular kind.

As someone training to be a pharmacist you should take medicine as prescribed, obviously there are doctors that are not good at their jobs and concerns should be addressed through the proper channels.

However in the vast majority of cases things should be taken as prescribed. Failure to do so can lead to many problems such as the medication not having the desired effects all the way up to things like overdose and death.

Oh ok, Im being started on the regular kind at 75mgs to see if I can tolerate them also.
