Ashwagandha for OCD Intrusive Thoughts

I’ve posted before about having pure obsessional OCD. Not the physical ritual OCD where you gotta count how many steps you took, but the kind of OCD where you obsess over your own thoughts because of the feeling of thought broadcast and hearing voices.

Anyway, I’ve recently had insomnia that has really kicked me in the balls for about 2 months now. My obsessional thoughts have gotten much worse as a result. I was recommended to try Ashwagandha + Magnesium Biglycinate for insomnia (it’s over the counter and is available in the same pill), and it has actually helped my OCD immensely. It’s supposed to be to reduce stress / cortisol.

I noticed the dose in pill form is only 62.5mg and that people online are taking 1000’s of mg’s of it in a day. The pills are 20$ for 120 caps, which I consider quite expensive.

I found a 200g package of the powder for 10$ at Winners, I took a whole teaspoon of it today in the daytime and felt pretty good, but I’m going to cut the dose in half. All of the sources I consulted online said that you can only take Ashwaghanda for 3 months, then you gotta stop taking it for 2 weeks. But I dunno what dose they’re referring to, so that’s why I’m going to be only taking half a teaspoon from now on.

Just wanted to share my success with anyone going through the hell of obsessional intrusive thoughts!
