Arthritis at 42

My regular doc says I have arthritis in both of my knees. They’re hurting right now. When I get up it hurts. I need to exercise more. I took an Aleve that barely works. ■■■■.

Sorry to hear that. The doctor said exercise will help?

Maybe try physical therapy if your health plan pays for it?

I developed arthritis in my 40’s as well. I’m 63 now. It doesn’t get better. I can’t take aspirin or ibuprofen or NSAIDs for it. I treat my arthritis with yoga. Works pretty darn well.

My knees also hurt today, especially the right knee. I was icing it an hour ago. It feels a little better.

Just getting done with physical therapy for knee arthritis. Ive had cartilage taken out five times, three one knee, two the other. Tremendous pain. Two months of physical therapy and i feel like i was being a wuss, but it really hurt. I feel fantastic now but they are exercises im gonna have to do forever.

You can hear my bones creaking. Hopefully no surgery

Pt helped with that for me, my left knee creaked and had a weird click. All gone in two months.

Same here. Creaking and popping sounds. When I creak, I always think of this scene with the tin man in the wizard of oz. Too bad an oil can won’t work for me. :grimacing:

Maybe there’s hope.

I have bone-on-bone osteoarthritis in both my knees and need to have knee replacement surgery eventually, but the best thing I’ve done for the pain was lose a lot of weight as it’s made the pain more bearable. I can do stairs again with pain, but for a long time I couldn’t do stairs at all cuz of all the excess weight.

I’ve dropped four lbs already. Even just walking outside around helps. Sounds scary white raven. Did you say you still have pain?

Walked to the store in pain. Got Ibuprofen. It’s sunny and cold today.
