Anyone been on this? I’ve just switched from 100mg Clopixol to Aripiprazole 10 mg a day. Anyone else been on it?

I’m on 10 mg a day it is the best med to me overall I’ve tried. Not worth switching.

I’ve been on abilify for 5 years. I started with 10mg now I’m on 15mg.

Any side effects? Does it cause weight gain. My Psychaiatrist said it’s better than most meds for weight gain.

Your psychiatrist is correct, it’s better than most. I got some weight gain but not as bad as others ie zyprexa, cloxaril, etc…
Some people report anxiety or restlessness. I don’t get this side affect much it relaxes me more than anything.
It has less side affects than most antipsychotics and is fairly effective too in your average person.
No guarantees for anybody, as everyone’s body chemistry is different but definitely an antipsychotic worth a try id say.

Increased appetite. But i found if I take a b-complex vitamin then that seems to curb that.
The worst side effect for me is increased anxiety.
Also more importantly it increased my blood sugar so I have to take metformin for that. So make sure you get blood tests every 6 months.

I have been on 400mg of Aripiprazole every 4 weeks for the past two years and found that I’ve been losing weight. From my what I know of, injections have resulted in the least side effects.

I was also on Clopixol before but the depot. I then changed to Olanzapine and then Aripiprazole(Abilify). Abilify is the best for me so far.
I was on Clopixol depot. Now ariprazine oral medication.
Why is ability the best?
Abilify is less sedating and weight neutral. When I was on Olanzapine I gained a LOT of weight. Clopixol sedated me very much and I had some bad side effects.
It’s better than any AP i’ve tried. Made me nervous as hell at first but I have a medication to deal with side effects…and that med has side effects as well…
I was on Aripiprazole and it gave me akathisia at 10mg, really bad at 20mg. Which is a pity as it handled my symptoms really well. I have recently switched to brexpiprazole (Rexulti) which is related but worked much better for me.

I’m on 10 mg of abilify it works well. Minimal side effects, I’m just gonna get it increased.
Why did you come off clopixol?
I am on aripirazole but I have no other antipsychotic to compare it to. It does something in particular to my motivation and concentration

I was on a 100mg a month of Clopixol. I used to be on 400 mg a month depot injection. It got gradually taken down. The Psychaiatrist asked me if I wanted to come off it completely, stay on injection or go down to a dose of 10 mg aripripazole and then come off it so I choose third option. What dose u on?

Have you put on weight since being on it. My Psychaiatrist said no to little weight gain.
