Aren't we all self centred really

Because everything we do we do cos we want to be happy.

Even altruism.

I think the word self centred is a little demonised.

Yes, but it’s a depressing way to experience reality.

I don’t think so.

To me it is just about personal responsibility, the self centred feeling.

We all see the world around us from our own perspective and experience and world.

We also have empathy allows us to get out of ourselves and understand others and have relationship with others.

I understand what you are getting at.

Even empathy, in the end it serves ourselves. Understanding others help us understand ourselves, build relationships so we can gain something.

I have had moments where I’m like wow - I look at the world and I feel completely alone and not connected with anyone but my own feelings.

Idk maybe the word self centred is just confused with selfish where you actually harm ppl in the process of doing what you think would make you happy.

I am proud to be self centred though. It is a very good thing.
