Are you ok with snakes?

So I was walking the dog out in nature and she started barking at a snake hidden in the grass. I ran all the way home. But if a snake comes up to the house, it doesn’t disturb me at all.
I just wondered how you feel about them.

I have never seen a wild snake here in England.

Where I grew up ( west-central Michigan ), they were a common sight.

Here there are snakes only in the mountains.

Where is “here” or you don’t want to say.

Snakes freak me out big time. I am not a fan of reptiles

I hate frogs as well. They always make me jump when I am digging as they always hide in weird places, and they take me by surprise

I hate snakes, wasps and bees as well.

There was a good sized brown snake in my garage last year. It was pretty feisty when I coaxed it into a plastic bin with a broom. I then transported the snake to a wild creek area and released it there. I think it was probably a gopher snake. One always has to be careful in California since rattle snakes are pretty common here.

My 7 year old nephew got a ball python for his bday back in October, well he wasn’t eating so my sis took the snake to get forced fed today, its got a lump in its belly now

I like snakes, they are cool. I was outside on my patio one day and the kid’s bike came alive, there was a snake lying perfectly across it. It slithered to an open pole to try to go down to get our frogs that lived there and I redirected it. I love our frogs better. It didn’t like being messed with and left in a huff. We have a ton of water snakes here. I don’t know why. There is no water, except the sprinklers. Of course in the desert that may be enough to attract them.

I used to pick up all the snakes at our old house and relocate them out of the yard after showing them to my kids. I love snakes.

NO I hate snakes we get rattle snakes here some people eat them others keep them but personally I think they are mean

Deep fear of snakes

Anything brown over here I get away from. Not that you see the poisonous ones around much but brown snakes can be deadly in Oz and they vary in color so it’s just best to avoid any dark snakes.

None of the snakes here are poisonous. My kids pick them up and have no fear. I don’t mind them either.

Snakes and clowns are my two phobias. Well, I am afraid to be in water that is too deep to stand in, but that’s only because I never really learned how to swim, so that fear is logical, wouldn’t call it a phobia per se.

There was a time when I was afraid of heights, but skydiving got me over that. I also had a fear of public speaking, but teaching labs as a grad student quickly got me over that. Down to just snakes and clowns now.

I hear you on brown snakes, @rogueone. Down South in the US we uave copperheads and cotton mouths. Both brown.

In the NorthEast our brown snakes are harmless, though I read there can be copperheads in some areas of our state
