I loved having both close to me since i was a kid. When i got older, I tended to choose cats because of their unique qualities like being able to use a litter box and keep themselves clean. But if I could, I’d add a dog to the mix for sure!

i thought i was a dog person i had a german shepherd for 17 years she had 2 times cancer (we couldnt do anything)
but then my sister came with 3 weeks stray kitten , while i love both and i think u take more from dogs i consider my self a cat person.

I’m a cat person because cats are both neat and quiet. Dogs are a bit too excited when they are around their owners, jumping up and down.

I love my own cats and other people’s dogs. But, no, I am definitely a cat person. I have been all my life. I don’t like the responsibility of a dog.

Grew up with dogs (mutts, Heinz 57 types) but always wanted a cat. I’ve now got a moggie called Elvis who thinks he’s a dog - go figure!

I prefer cats. Dogs just trike me as too needy, and cats cat take care of themselves.
I don’t like the codependency of dogs, and their constant need for attention and validation wears me out.
Cats seem more respecful of the need for personal space. If nothing else, they’re easier to move away when they get in the way.
And they purr. Purring calms me down and makes me happy

My partner is a cat person, her little sister is a dog person. I’m more of an amphibian or lizard person

I love both but if I had to pick, I’d say I am a dog person. We had a dog from age 5 to 20. We weren’t allowed to have cats. I later had cats when my friend and I lived together. I live with my parents again and am not allowed to have a cat.

I never had any kind of pet (I’m 54-years old) in my life until 5 months ago. About a year ago I bought my girlfriend a stuffed-animal cat (for lack of a better term). I woke up early one morning, and I noticed she was sleeping while clutching the stuffed-animal cat in her hand. It was one of those moments that take my breath away.
Now we have a real cat. I can’t believe how much I love this cat.
