Anyone with low vitamin D?

My D is low. Who has this problem and what fixed it???

Mucho gracias :kissing_cat:

nearly everyone in a Seattle Fall-Winter-Spring has low vitamin Dā€¦ due to our usually constant rain.

Vitamin D tabs helpā€¦ foods high in D are goodā€¦ and in the dead of winter those light therapy lamps actually help. (I used to think it was all hooey voodoo until I was given oneā€¦ )

Hope you feel better soon. :v:

I have low Vitamin D levels, I take D3 supplements

Do they work?
:pill:

I dont know yet, going to have my levels tested in a couple of months - my family doctor told me how much D to take

How many IU is it?

my doctor old me to take 1000 - I also take a multi vitamin that has some D in it already, so its a bit more

You can take Vit D pills/chewables they sell them at the pharmacy. Good for energy apparently?

Donā€™t take a shower right after being in the sun light or other natural light . This will give the vitamin ā€œDā€ the time to be absorbed into the skin after being converted in our body oils by the sun light,

I am always getting dinged for this on my blood tests. Vitamin D pills really do help, sometimes I feel like I can feel the difference almost instantly.

It depends on your level.

Three years ago I was at 8.5! They retested because it looked like an error. I took megadoses every week for 8 weeks before starting g a maintenance dose. Every time I run out of the pills and dont take them it drops again. I was having really bad migraines and fatigue last fall. So bad I could focus at all. My level was at 21 so I bucked up and started taking the vitamins again. I saw improvement in 24 hours.

If your level is low you really have to take the vitamins. You canā€™t get enough from food. That being said it doesnā€™t hurt to supplement with food or sun, unless the sun bothers you.

I started taking d3 3000IU.

my level was at 22 and I been getting stress fractures in my feet when I jog and Iā€™m pretty sure thatā€™s why.

I hope the supplement works, I miss jogging.

I took 10000 last fall for two months and now 5000. I think. It should make a noticeable difference. APs can do stuff to your muscles too. If you have any EPS it can make walking or running uncomfortable. Just monitor it and see. Can you bike? Trading off biking and running can really help. Biking will do wonders to strengthen your muscles, especially around the knees. Having that extra strength can really help when you jog.

Yup. Now I have resorted to biking and I donā€™t like it, but make myself do it until I build up my bone vitamins.
