Its no use at all. Its smells horrible. It creates dizzy feeling at first. But after few days of use tolerance quickly builds up. It have no effect of sleep and even if have its only slight. It can effect kidney, liver function I think so not safe for long term use.

Valerian is good. It doesn’t make me sleep but it’s calming.

LS! Valerian is good. It is a traditionalist medicine. Another interesting factoid:

It gives me a migraine.

It is good as a natural remedy for insomnia. It does however smell fairly pungent. It is not to bad, make sure to drink plenty of water else you get dry mouth similar to cotton mouth.

LS! Probably not. Eg my anti psychotic Risperdal works on the dopamine D2 receptors. Valerian will not interfere with that. But I do not know what medication you are taking and how specifically it works.

I use valerian root each night. It helps me fall asleep. I don’t mind the smell. I think it has a earthy smell and isn’t that bad.

When I tried Valerian Root and it didn’t work, this tells me that it still involves main neurotransmitter. There’s something there besides GABA, with Dopamine, Serotonin, and Acetylcholine, that is changing its effectiveness, or something else.
