I noticed slightly reduced anxiety after quitting drinking coke (I drank it everyday). I don’t know how much it was the caffeine or the sugar. But in my experience, eating a diet with lower glycemic index can potentially reduce anxiety.
You can blame this on the early human primates. They ate ripened fruit instead of unripe fruit because the ripe fruits had more energy because of the higher sugar content. We evolved with sugar.
It does for me…sugar and processed carbs. I feel panicked after eating them. I also found a study recently that antioxidants help with anxiety so ive been trying to eat more fruits, vegetables, and a little orange juice.
I take two table spoons of sugar on my oat meal every day else I don’t use sugar. Besides of that I only eat potatoes and veggies or spaghetti and veggies. i don’t feel anything psychological by consuming that amount of sugar.
