Yes I have. Pretty much all antipsychotics cause weight gain. It is not the worst side effect though.

I’m on a slimming world diet. Haven’t stuck to it this week though.

Avoid “junk food”. Biscuits, ice creams, etc. That is the absolute best I can do.

I’ve put on 20 pounds (9 kgs) since starting risperidone last year. I find it hard to manage my impulse control with food on this med.

I’ve gained thirty-five pounds since being put on risperidone eight months ago. I was rather thin when I first started it so the weight gain was welcomed in the beginning but I want a slim (but not skinny) figure again so I’m currently working to achieve that. It’s really hard for me to bypass snacks though. ;_;

No. Strangely enough ive lost weight on the Xeplion 100mg jab. I think its more to do with my poor diet rather than any medication. None of the different drugs ive been on over the years has put weight on. Im 6 foot 6 and always been skinny. I actually wish i was fat a little bit!

I gained a lot of weight on Zyprexa and Risperdal, then when I quit the Zyprexa with going to the gym, I lost about 30 pounds. Still have another 30-40 to lose before I’m happy, but idk if that’s possible with the meds I’m on.

I too gained lot of weight. I gained an over weight of 10kg for my height. These anti psychotics increase the appetite and as a result we eat more and gain weight. It is difficult to eat less when you are very hungry!

i put on a decent amount of weight but recently its started to burn off slowly but surely. I plan to be ripped again soon because my wellbutrin curbs my appetite and i only eat 3 bananas during the day and a not so big dinner at night.

Some starting my first AP I have gained 188 lbs, but have only lost about 15 since getting to my highest weight.

Saphris was the worst for me. I gained 100 lbs in about 6 months.

Latuda I gained 40 lbs in about 2 months.

Abilify I gained a bunch but don’t remember how much.

Haldol I’ve gained about 60 lbs in 4 years.

I’m in the same boat as Butterflyy. I’ve gone up about 24KG in the past two years and it’s a pain to shake it off. I’ve usually been the fit type of guy, but after starting with the medication it’s made me lazy and tired so I spend most of my time stationary. I’m not sure if it’s just my new found love of being a couch potato is the culprit, or if it’s a mix of couch potato + medication.

For the past week I’ve gone down about 300gram daily eating only 150kcals daily. I should be going down a lot more with so little calories coming in.

Yes. It s absolutely my fault for not moving my F ass… Not the meds. I am tired most of the time.

I put 30 kg in 8 months on olanzapine. On rispen I am stable psychological and physical

I gained a lot of weight on risperidone and Depakote.
Depakote is a big weight gaining drug.
I am trying to eat less and move more.

I’ve gained 100 pounds on various aps, I got on Topamax with my aps and finally stopped gaining. So far I’ve been able to get off about 20 pounds but it doesn’t come off as easy as it goes on, let me tell you.
